Terms of Use

Effective Date: July 11, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Scamina (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

2. Description of Service

Scamina is an educational platform that helps users identify potential fraud and scam attempts. The Service uses AI-powered analysis to evaluate suspicious messages, emails, and other content for common fraud indicators.

The Service is provided for educational and informational purposes only. We do not guarantee the accuracy of fraud detection, and our analysis should not be considered professional, legal, or financial advice.

3. Age Requirements

You must be at least 13 years of age to use this Service. If you are under 18, you should use this Service only with the involvement of a parent or guardian. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these age requirements.

4. Prohibited Use

You agree NOT to use this Service to:

  • Submit, transmit, distribute, or solicit child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any content depicting minors in a sexual context
  • Submit any unlawful content or use the Service for any illegal purpose
  • Use the Service to refine, improve, or develop scam or fraudulent messages
  • Engage in harassment, threats, hate speech, or abuse of any kind
  • Submit malware, phishing attempts, or other malicious content intended to harm users
  • Attempt to circumvent, disable, or interfere with security features of the Service
  • Use automated systems, bots, or scrapers to access the Service without express permission
  • Upload or submit images containing sexually explicit content, pornography, or any depictions of minors. Such submissions will be rejected, quarantined, and may be reported to authorities

CSAM Policy - Zero Tolerance

We have a zero-tolerance policy for child sexual abuse material. We use automated detection tools to identify such content. Any user who submits CSAM will have their access immediately terminated, all evidence will be preserved, and we will report the incident to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and cooperate fully with law enforcement.

5. Content Submission

When you submit content to the Service for analysis, you grant us a limited license to process, analyze, and store that content for the purpose of providing the Service and improving our fraud detection capabilities.

We take reasonable steps to protect personally identifiable information (PII) in submitted content, including automatic redaction of sensitive data. However, you should not have an expectation of complete privacy for content submitted for analysis.

We reserve the right to report illegal content to appropriate authorities and to preserve evidence of Terms violations.

6. Anything You Submit

This section covers everything you send us: a message you want checked, a correction or a suggested improvement to a result, a reply in a thread, and anything else you write that reaches another person. The rules below are the same wherever it ends up.

Whatever you are sending, please leave out:

  • Personal details, yours or anyone else's — names, addresses, account numbers, dates of birth. We strip these out of the messages people ask us to check, and a reply should not put them back.
  • Swearing, insults, and abuse. People read these pages when they are frightened, and often in a language that is not their first.
  • Accusations against a named person or a named small business. Naming the company being impersonated is useful — “this is not really Chase” helps. Naming who you believe is behind it does not, because they have no way to answer here.
  • Financial, legal, or medical advice. Say what happened to you. Leave what someone else should do to them and their bank.
  • Web links. On a page about scams, a field that publishes links is too easy to turn against the people reading it.
  • Phone numbers, email addresses, or handles — yours or anyone else's. People who have just been scammed are often targeted a second time, and a thread full of contact details is a list worth stealing.

We check what you send before it reaches anyone else. Nothing appears first and gets taken down later. Some of that checking is automated, and you may be asked to confirm that you are not a robot.

Checking submissions before they appear is how we keep these pages safe. It is not a promise to catch everything, and it does not create a duty to monitor, review, or remove anything. If something got through that should not have, tell us and we will look.

If we cannot accept something you wrote, we will tell you which rule it ran into and give you a chance to change it. We will not turn it down silently.

We will get this wrong sometimes. When we do, write to contact@scamina.com and a person will read it.

If you send us a correction, a suggestion, or an idea for improving a result, you agree that we may use it — in the result, in the product, anywhere — without owing you payment, credit, or confidentiality. What we publish after reviewing a suggestion is published under our name.

We may decline, remove, or limit anything submitted, and we may stop accepting submissions from an account that keeps ignoring these rules. Removing something is not a ruling about who is right — it means it did not belong on the page.

7. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of the Service, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, and software, are the exclusive property of Scamina and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without our express written permission.

8. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not guarantee that our fraud analysis will detect all scams or that identified content is definitively fraudulent. The Service may produce false positives or false negatives. Always exercise your own judgment.

This Service is not a substitute for professional advice. If you believe you have been a victim of fraud, contact law enforcement and appropriate financial institutions.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SCAMINA AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

In no event shall our total liability exceed the amount you paid us (if any) in the twelve months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Scamina, its operators, affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice, for any reason, including breach of these Terms.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, and limitations of liability.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California.

13. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time by posting the revised terms on the Service. Material changes will be indicated by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after any changes indicates your acceptance of the new Terms.

14. Contact Information

If you have any questions about these Terms of Use, please contact us at contact@scamina.com.
